Mission & History
Established in 2008 to improve the quality of neurosurgical care, the NeuroPoint Alliance (NPA) is a 501(c)(6) affiliate nonprofit organization of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS).
The NPA supports evidence development, performance assessment, comparative effectiveness studies and adoption of new treatments into routine clinical practice.
Goals & Objectives
- Support national quality research efforts, including comparative effectiveness.
- Satisfy public reporting requirements for programs such as MIPS and CMS.
- Fulfill practice data collection requirements for American Board of Neurological Surgery primary certification and MOC.
- Provide robust data for structured quality improvement studies.
The NPA is designed to meet the quality improvement and research needs of:

The NPA is supported by the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS), the Neurosurgery Research & Education Foundation (NREF), the Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS), the American Board of Neurological Surgery (ABNS), the Society of Neurological Surgeons (SNS) and the AANS/CNS Section on Spine & Peripheral Nerves.
